Green HVAC Technologies of the futureThere are many changes taking place in heating and air conditioning technologies that many people are not aware of. Advances and cost reductions in green technologies have slowly been entering into both the commercial and residential markets and today the choices are staggering. As with many other technologies the costs for the latest and greatest gadget reduces as technologies catch up and as a result of competition in the marketplace. Some of these technologies today include variable speed air handlers and furnaces and while the term variable speed is used loosely in this author's opinion, the cost savings are real and the added comfort from less noise and drafts is also very real. While two stage gas and modulating gas valves have been around for awhile the concept has advantages for comfort and not so much for energy savings because it still takes the same amount of heat to heat a space no matter what you do to the heat source itself.
